Summer Institute of Gifted

I couldn’t attend summer programs offered by Summer Institute of Gifted during Covid. Previously I attended SIG Summer Programs in UCLA and University of Chicago. Due to Covid restrcitions, SIG moved all their programs to virtual. I attended 3 programs virtually in 2020.

Psychology of Fear,4 weeks
Attained a deeper understanding of psychology and how different components of our brain connect to our emotions; Learned from where fear stems, and how to battle it. 

Medical Microbiology, 4 weeks

Understood the microscopic structure of various viruses and bacteria. Learned about organelle structures. Learned about prokaryotes and eukaryotes.

DNA Diagnostics, 4 weeks
Learned about DNA and how it is used to diagnose various diseases. Understood what DNA consists of and how it is formed as well. 

Led by world-class instructors, the Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) offers a summer opportunity to high-achieving students in grades 1-11. SIG, a leader in gifted education since 1984, is a place of exploration, laughter, potential, creativity, innovation, and fun. More importantly, SIG is a place where gifted students can be themselves and be part of a community of like-minded peers.
