Abhalmaya Oldage Home and Nursing Care

I interned under Dr Aparna Deshmukh, MD and General Surgeon at Abhalmaya Oldage Home and Nursing Care for several months between 2019 and 2021. Dr Aparna founded an independent old-age home and nursing centre and dedicated her life to the noble cause of serving old and needy people. their children desert some of them. It was a heart-wrenching experience to see the struggles and health challenges of old people.

I had the good fortune to assist old age patients by helping them walk, drink water, and perform basic tasks in their day-to-day routine.
Through this internship, I learned more about bedside manners and how to assist old-age patients. I also enjoyed interacting with the staff at the nursing home and understanding their challenges and backgrounds. During this internship, I oversaw several medical procedures and various surgeries, including foot debridement in diabetic patients and appendicitis removal.
