During my oncology experience, I gained practical exposure to cancer treatment and care. I learned contouring delineation by working with patient scans, enhancing my understanding of precision in radiation therapy. Researching the significance of radiation oncology and its physics gave me insight into the balance of treatment effectiveness and safety. I also studied the effects of radiation and analyzed advanced technologies like the Ethos and TruBeam radiation machines. Observing Dr. Prasad Dandekar further enriched my understanding of radiation oncology practices. In the chemotherapy ward, I observed medical rounds and assisted patients, gaining firsthand exposure to chemotherapy drug administration, especially in cases of spinal cancer. I also took patient medical histories and understood how personalized treatment plans are developed for precision oncology. Observing Dr. Sewanti Limaye highlighted the multidisciplinary approach to cancer care, solidifying my passion for oncology and my dedication to advancing treatment methods to improve patient outcomes.
