Model United Nations

Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation in which students learn about Leadership, diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. I led 3 MUN conferences as a Head Chair and participated as a delegate in over 5. Each of these conferences taught me skills regarding public speaking, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Over 5 years of my participation in MUN, I have become a better delegate and learned how to tackle challenges better. Below are some of the conferences I was involved in.

American School of Bombay MUN (ASBMUN), Mumbai, Chair, Economic and Social Council 2022
I moderated and monitored debate on ‘Assisting countries in building stronger health systems, especially in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic’ for ECOSOC committee. I also encouraged delegates from various nations to speak and create resolutions by helping them ideate potential arguments and insightful questions

Canadian International School MUN (CISMUN), Bangalore, Chair of Security Council 2021
I facilitated and encouraged debate in SC committee about ‘The creation of an illegal framework in order to identify and mitigate the usage of chemical and biological warfare’. Futhermore, I guided delegates on how to create resolutions, make amendments, and write speeches by suggesting feedback

American International School Chennai MUN (CHEMUN), Chennai, Chair of Human Rights Council 2022
I was 1 out of 20 people chosen to direct and lead HRC committee debate/conference. I supported and provided a platform for 30 delegates to make amendments, speeches, and resolutions on debate topics such as ‘Measures to assist informal workers’
Wrote a 4000-word research paper on the debate topic ‘Measures to assist informal workers’ and learned about the rules and regulations that limit workers in the unorganised sector

The Hague International Model United Nations Qatar 2023
Acted as Head Chair in committee SDG 10.

I lead 50+ delegates to have a fruitful and engaging conference.
Passed 5 Resolutions, 40 Speeches, and 56 Amendments.
