Kumon- Completion of the Program award

I started my Kumon journey at the young age of 5 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and over 12 years, I have completed 21 maths levels and 26 English levels. I received the Kumon Completers Award for English in 2020 and the Kumon Completers Award for Maths in 2021. I have received several Silver and Gold Medals and always placed on the Honors Roll for being 3 years above the grade level.

My journey of Kumon continued for 12 years, spanning 6 Cities across 2 continents. I started this program in 2011 at the early age of 5 years in Cincinnati, Ohio, but within six months of beginning the Kumon program, we moved to Houston, Texas, where I had to start the program all over again. We briefly moved to Long Beach, California, in 2014 where we finalized a Kumon Center in Orange County, CA. We moved to Pune, India in 2015 and started going to Kumon’s Pune, Aundh Center. Finally, we moved to Mumbai in 2021, and I completed my program in Kumon’s Bandra Center.

Kumon is a structured, self-learning program for Maths and Reading that gives children the critical thinking skills and mindset to learn new materials independently. Regardless of academic level, children can progress through individualised instruction at their own pace advancing step by logical step in just 30 minutes per day. Kumon’s disciplined, worksheet approach to learning advances children’s abilities in the classroom and throughout life.

Kumon taught me what we can achieve by making small daily continuous improvements over a long period. We generally overestimate what we can achieve in the short term but hugely underestimate what we can achieve in the long term if we remain consistent and disciplined.
